His Excellency James K. Nyoro

Governor James Nyoro is an Agricultural Economist from the University of Nairobi and London’s University Wye College. He was Country and Policy Advisor to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle Washington. He also served as the Managing Director of the Rockefeller Foundation for African Region based in Nairobi, Kenya. Before joining the Rockefeller Foundation, He was the Executive Director of a Nairobi-based policy think tank, Tegemeo Institute, Egerton University. Hon. James Nyoro has also worked as Senior Advisor to the President in Food Security, Water and Climate Change. He was also the Advisor to the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. James is an expert on food security both locally and internationally and brings in vast experience to the Kiambu County Government.

The County Government endeavors to ensure that Kiambu county resources are optimally utilized and equitably distributed through participatory governance, land related issues addressed and agricultural systems improved. The county is building infrastructure and healthcare thus making Kiambu to a model County in the country where people will access all services and be empowered economically, socially and politically.
